Marais E-commerence Management System

#UX #UI #‎Integration ,2022
Duration : 4 Months (2021/11-2022/03), still optimization
My Role : UX/UI Designer
Responsibility : End to end UX/UI design
Company : Marais

Two platforms
Staff : for internal use by marketing, sales, and procurement... colleagues
Provider : vendors that work with Marais
Project Overview
The original management system was outsourced to vendors. But due to the company's growth and the inability to customize the functions, it was decided to rebuild a new one.
Based on some basic functions that were customized for the company, I think this is a project from 0 to 1. It not only presents significant engineering challenges but also a massive task for designers to design and plan all functional flows.

Many functions were developed, such as the dashboard, website settings, product management, pre-order management, and Kol management.
Here's an example : Promotion Setting
Workflow

Understand current situation ➡️ Consolidate requirements (type of promotion, execution priority) ➡️ Process design ➡️ UI design (official website, backend settings) ➡️ Scenario testing (successful application, accuracy of amounts) ➡️ Adjustment and optimization.

Project Goal

1. Clear information
2. Intuitive and easy-to-use platform
3. Reduce error rate
4. Improve work efficiency
5. Scalable
6. Maintainable

User Flow

"Proper configuration of promotions is extremely important in e-commerce, as setting them up incorrectly can result in significant financial losses. Therefore, a step-by-step approach is now being adopted to reduce the error rate.”

Design

1.Develop a Design System to maintain consistency in components and operational behavior.
2.Backend promotion configuration pages (promotion settings, activity product page settings).
3.Official website (product page, product listing page, shopping cart).

Mock Up
Example of a promotion:
Spend over NT$5000 on designated brands and receive an instant discount of NT$500 at checkout.

( Upon completing the promotion criteria, the discount of NT$500 will be applied at checkout for purchases over NT$5000.
If there are multiple items in the purchase, the discount will be distributed based on the proportion of each item's price. )

What I learn
1. Discussing the logic of integrating data with backend engineers was very interesting and made me more aware of scalability and maintainability.

2. Thinking through the entire user flow for a new feature was challenging but very rewarding.

3. Understanding business context and company domain knowledge better through user feedback.
